Bob English - I enjoy good radio programs and music. I am a member of peoplesradio.net

Dianne Enriquez - I am an avid fan and advocate for local art, artist, music and cultural centers. I love history and pop culture. I am a great lover of music of all kinds from all around the world. I am a community organizer at Young Workers United, a groundbreaking organization that brings to the forefront the issues of youth and immigrant workers and helps to incorporate them into the labor movement by fighting to raise standards in the restaurant industry. Collectively, our members and staff have passed the first Paid Sick Days law in the United States, ensuring that every worker receives paid sick time. We have also helped raise the minimum wage in San Francisco to $9.14 an hour with a scheduled increase every year. I have also been a proud participant of the KPFA apprenticeship which was an incredibly rewarding experience which, above all, has served to encourage my love for KPFA and respect for its hardworking and talented staff.

Sherry Gendelman - I have been a community/political activist since the Civil Rights movement of the '60s and the anti Vietnam War movement. I have been a practicing attorney, originally focused on civil rights issue, which practice grew out of my civil rights work; I have been politically active in the San Francisco Bay Area for decades; I have directed an office of 20 employees(EEOC); I have served on many steering committees during the '80's dealing with demonstrations and organizing around the US intervention in Central America; I was executive director of the Gray Panthers of San Francisco; I have lived in India for 5 years and have an appreciation of many different cultures; I have my own law practice representing a wide population of low income and foreign born clients; I have been active in the struggle to save KPFA; I have been active in the KALW community; I have contacts in a wide variety of Bay Area communities from legal to artistic to musical to educational to political. I teach a class for the San Francisco Superior Courts on legal rights; I am a jazz and music devotee and believe that culture and art and politics are essential to the quite and passionate enjoyment of life.

David Heller – I have worked with the Green Party, Californians for Electoral Reform, 9/11 Truth Alliance. I’m a member the San Francisco Bike Coalition. I’ve been a Burning Man participant every year since 2001. I’ve been involved with a democracy think tank. I’m a member of Monterey Bay Aquarium. I love swimming, biking, books, cinema, art including culinary arts, science, nature, animals and architecture.

Warren Mar – Organizations I’ve belonged to include unions, community groups, immigrant rights groups, etc. Those are people I hang out with in my political work. Personal hobbies include carpentry, home improvement work, and motorcycles, so in my non-political work I hang out with bikers, mechanics, and construction workers. These are people I grew up with, people who are mostly workers. Some are progressive, many are not, but they all know what my politics are. Sometimes when I’m doing a construction project or bike building project I will have KPFA on all day. That is a good time to share the station with non lefties, when they ask “what are you listening to?” Go to a mechanics garage or a construction site – the radio will be on all day.

Susan McDonough – Union organizer; gardening, reading, music. Am a member of a various organizations, including TALC-the Transportation & Land Use Coalition, immigrant rights organization, and various community organizations.

Antonio Medrano - I traveled a lot to the Mexico, Central America during the difficult times of the 80’s. I still do that, For 6 years did workshops on Human Rights and Education in three sites in Mexico (Queretaro, D.F., and Puebla). The only U.S. presenter for 6 years at the Coloquio International de Educacion y los Derechos Humanos, held yearly in Puebla, Mexico

Attila Nagy – I’m a Graphic Artist and Musician. I also work with several organizations in the North Bay, including: The Petaluma Progressives; The Committee for Immigrant Rights, Sonoma County; Voces Cruzando Fronteras/Voices Crossing Borders; The Martin Luther King Committee; Peace Press Editorial Collective of the Peace & Justice Center of Sonoma County. Co-founder of North Bay for KPFA. Formerly served two terms on the Green Party of Sonoma County Council.

Richard PhelpsI enjoy music, basketball, soccer, poker, well-produced radio programs and a good mystery. Getting together with progressive people to make positive changes in society. I am a member of the Mediation Society and the Association for Dispute Resolution of Northern California. I am also a founding member of www.peopleradio.net.

Mara Rivera - I was active in Direct Action to Stop the War, am active in Jewish Voice for Peace.
I love Latino music and dance, American roots music, world music.
I have a special interest in health, environmental health, health of the earth.
I participate in bioregional events, local natural history. I have a public native plant demonstration garden at my workplace.
I work at a large natural foods/goods democratically run workplace.
I belong to a community supported agriculture group.

Paul Robins – I volunteer for the Zen Hospice Project, at Laguna Honda Hospital in San Francisco, sitting with the dying for 1 shift a week.

CC Campbell Rock – My hobbies are reading and writing. I'm affiliated with the Bay Area Solidarity Group and Color of Change.

Tracy RosenbergLots of hobbies and interests: film, writing, traveling, animal rescue, protest activities. Being elected to the KPFA board will make all of those things harder to pursue :>

Gerald Sanders – I love music, basketball, and well-produced radio programs. Getting together with people to make positive changes in society. As I mentioned already I am a member of various social organizations and unions. I am a founding member of www.peopleradio.net.

Joe Wanzala – Like many people I have varied hobbies and interests, in my case, KPFA is among the most important to me. I have no formal organizational affiliations other than the KPFA Local Station Board (my term expires this fall) and I am a listener member of KPFA Radio and the Pacifica Foundation.

Jim Weber - I am a teacher who wants to make education work for all students, and my plan is to create 100% success in all schools for all students. And I am associated with Veterans for Peace.

Stan Woods Elected Member of the Peace and Freedom party State Central Committee. A Member of ILWU #6. A founding member of the Multi-Union Transport Workers Solidarity Committee.
‘’Hobbies, interests‘’? Music, though I have pretty broad tastes I would probably have to rank R and B and Jazz at the top. Reading everything from Labor and Socialist journals, the daily scanning of the ‘net and reading the San Francisco Chronicle and the Nytimes to Ian Rankin’s mystery novels .. I also try to stay current on what’s happening in my native Appalachia. Sports. I follow Baseball and Soccer primarily (Along with that I welcomed the recent KPFA sponsored’’ Deep Sports ‘’ forum on Oct. 10)
I enjoy a good micro brew and working out at my neighborhood gym. (Though not at the same time!)
Last but not least I try to be a devoted father and family member.

Chris BrownI enjoy riding my bike all over; playing with my Golden Retriever when I get home from work; I'm a committed activist for Palestinian rights. I am a member of The Committee to Protect Journalists, Media Alliance, and the UPSO.

Brian Edwards-Tiekert – I work at KPFA. When I'm not working, I volunteer at KPFA. When I'm not working or volunteering at KPFA, I'm usually doing something for the KPFA Local Station Board.

Jeannine Etter - I like to read, visit nature, watch movies and visit the public library. I am affiliated with the South Berkeley YMCA and currently do Outreach Coordination with People's Grocery in West Oakland.
